Adware is a program that installs additional components that advertise certain products or sites often by delivering popup ads or by installing a toolbar in your browser. It may hijack your browser start or search pages redirecting you to sites other than what you wanted. Most adwares are hidden inside "free downloads" and forcibly installs software on your system.

Some adware is a bit more insidious than others. In order to provide targeted ad banners, Adware often contains another hidden component that tracks web usage When this occurs, the program is no longer considered Adware but instead is termed Spyware.

A spyware infestation can create significant unwanted activity, eat up computer memory disk usage, and network traffic, all of which slow the computer down. Stability issues, such as application or system-wide crashes, are also common.

Today adware and spyware infestations are most common security risk in computers, Programs have been developed in order to detect, quarantine, and remove adware. As there are many examples of adware software that are also spyware or malware, many of these detection programs have been developed to detect, quarantine, and remove adware as well, although some commercial anti-virus programs can also detect adware and spyware, or offer a separate spyware detection package.

There are however a few steps that can make the Removing Adware process easier: First, make sure you have an up-to-date anti-spyware scanner. Shutdown all open browser windows and applications and then disconnect your PC from the Internet before running a scan. After scanning, reboot the PC even if you were not prompted by the scanner.

Scan the system with the anti-spyware scanner and allow it to remove any adware/spyware it finds. Then reboot the PC and scan again. If the scanner still reports signs of infestation, allow it to remove any traces and reboot again. It sometimes help to boot in safe mode and run a complete scan in this mode

The best spyware and adware remedy is avoiding the infestation to begin with.   There will then be no need for removing adware from the computer memory of your Win32 machine.
